It has been observed that plant
based diets such as cereal, fruits and vegetables are increasingly being
replaced by diets that are richer in added sugars (Carbohydrates) and animal
fats. This transition, combined with general trends towards a more inactive
lifestyle is an underlying factor in the risk of developing chronic diseases.
Although is generally acceptable that a diet high
in fruits and vegetable are recommended for good health, only a small
proportion of the world population eat these in sufficient quantity for healthy
living. Employees today are facing much
higher levels of stress than ever before. The sad reality is that as fast as
levels of stress are increasing, levels of fitness are steadily declining.
People in all positions and professions are expected to drive longer commutes,
perform more tasks, devote more hours and endure more stress. All of these
factors contribute to the decline of overall employee health.
Following a sedentary lifestyle is more dangerous
for your health than smoking, says a new study reported in the South China Morning Post, and carried out by the University of Hong Kong and the Department of
Health. In the study, researchers looked at the level of physical activity in
people who died and were able to correlate their level of physical activity
with their risk of dying.
Approved diet structure: - The approved food structure says that we should take more grains which should be 50% of what we consume on a daily basis. Then fruits and vegetables in the right proportion should be taken at 30% on daily basis. Followed by protein and that should be 15% while fats and sugar (animal fats and carbohydrates) should be taking in a small proportion and that should be 5% of what we eat. Now reverse is the case of our diets. We no longer eat accordingly, we take too much of carbohydrates and fats, in which the end result is sugar and over the time can causes diabetes and other chronic diseases.
HOW OUR FOOD CONSUMPTION AFFECTS OUR CELLS
The human body is made up of 37 billion cells which
form different body organ such as the Heart, Kidney, and Pancreas etc each of
these cells function is to receive nutrients from the food we eat and discharge
the waste product. These cells should be fed properly with the right nutrients
so that the outer membrane will be permeable to nutrients. The nutrients should
be rich with lipid and steroid that are found in whole grain. The cells that
support us through our everyday hustling and rigor of making money should be
taken care of on a daily basis. We should not always blame the government on
every of our predicaments but take charge of our health now. We cannot but do
without our diets, because most of us are used to the diets. We can continue to
take them but there should be sometime that can bridge the gap, something that
can supplement the deficiency in our diet.
